Kamehameha Schools announced it is selling Waikiki's largest shopping Center the Royal Hawaiian Center. The trust said it will seek a buyer for the buildings, but not the land underneath. There was no estimate of the sale price. The proceeds will be reinvested into its 9-billion-dollar endowment. School officials said the decision was largely driven by a desire to reduce risk in its portfolio of assets and help ensure perpetual funding of its core mission to educate Native Hawaiian children.
