Labor Unions and Hyatt Avert a Strike
Posted Monday, July 1st 2013 @ 1pm

Labor union UNITE HERE and Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced a national agreement which will provide retroactive wage increases and maintain health care and pension benefits through 2018.  The key provision will enable employees at several Hyatt hotels to vote on whether they want to be represented by UNITE HERE, which represents about 300,000 hospitality industry workers in the U.S., including Hawaii and Canada. If it's ratified the union will end its global boycott of Hyatt.
