Undisinfected Wastewater Spills into Wahiawa Reservoir

About 10,500 gallons of undisinfected tertiary treated effluent discharged from the Wahiawa Wastewater Treatment Plant outfall into Wahiawa Reservoir Friday. It caused the ultra violet disinfection unit to cut off for 17 minutes until power was restored. Warning signs went up at daybreak and the state Department of Health will take water samples.
